To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the famous Oktoberfest in Munich the public broadcast of Bavaria (Bayerischer Rundfunk) commissioned a small interactive website. This flash-based web application consists of two main sections. The first section shows real-time data from the world’s largest fair composed of weather forecasts, beer hall temperature, and webcams.
The main section presents prominent numbers and time-based statistics. Large abstract numbers are translated to entertaining comparisons so the numbers are graspable and easily explorable.
As there was just a very simple brief like »We want some infographics for the Oktoberfest anniversary for our website« together as a small team we came up with the general idea and detailed concept. Further down the project, my role was to code the Flash web application and integrate the provided external data sources.
