The posters which were created as part of my bachelor thesis »Gegenwärtige Stadtkartographie« (contemporary city maps) draw a picture of the city from a social media point of view through non-geographic maps.
The maps depict the influence of digital media on our perception of the city. The accompanying theoretical text looks at the social cityscape and changing perception of places due to diffusion of the physical world and digital data.
All maps are showing one week of captured data of each city from Twitter, Instagram, and Foursquare. Custom software was written by me to capture, analyze and visualize this data in various forms.
